FX Comparison ("we", "us") operates www.fxcomparison.app as a free currency exchange comparison tool. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is stored, and your choices.

Information we collect

Exchange records you save. When you log and save a currency exchange on the home page, that data (date, currency pair, amount, optional custom rate) is written to localStorage in your browser under the key fxcomparison_exchanges. This data never leaves your device unless you export or share it yourself.

Preferences. We may store lightweight preferences in your browser, such as whether DatePicker scroll sounds are muted (fxcomparison_sound_muted) or whether you acknowledged our storage notice (fxcomparison_cookie_consent).

Rate data requests. To show exchange rates and charts, your browser requests public mid-market rate data from our API (sourced from ECB data via Frankfurter). These requests do not include your saved exchange records or personal identity.

Analytics (optional). If you choose Accept in our cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to collect aggregated usage data and improve the site. Choosing Essential only skips analytics. See our Cookie Policy for details.

What we do not collect

• No user accounts or login
• No payment information
• No advertising or retargeting cookies
• No sale of personal data to third parties

Data retention & deletion

Saved exchanges remain in your browser until you delete them from My Exchanges or clear your browser's site data. Clearing localStorage for www.fxcomparison.app removes all saved records on that device.

Children

FX Comparison is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
